With the ZS EV, which is currently available with a facelift, MG entered the 4W EV market. With the Wuling Air EV, SAIC Motor’s owned MG Motor India is attempting to aggressively diversify its line-up of electric vehicles. When compared to comparably priced gasoline vehicles, this sub-Rs. 10 lakh EV is anticipated to be the next hot sector because it offers a very economical proposition.
Both Excite and Exclusive trims were introduced when MG unveiled the ZS EV makeover earlier this year. However, only the highest-specified Exclusive was really released, with Excite following at a later time. The Excite trim appears to be going on sale right now, and MG is also including new interior options on Exclusive levels. Let’s look at it.
Excite Base Model for the MG ZS Base Excite trim cost Rs. 21.99 lakh, and the top-spec Exclusive trim went on sale for Rs. 25.88 lakh. But MG has now implemented a price increase. Excite models of the MG ZS EV now start at Rs. 22.58 lakh, while Exclusive models start at Rs. 26.49 lakh.
Price increases for Excite and Exclusive trims total Rs. 59,000 and Rs. 61,000, respectively. It was predicted that MG will sell a lesser 44.5 kWh battery from the pre-facelift model on Excite trim instead of the larger 50.3 kWh battery provided with the facelifted model due to the cheaper price of Excite trim. However, as can be seen from the type certification certificate, the 50.3 kWh battery and the 2060 kg GVW are the same for both Excite and Exclusive.
The claimed driving range of this 50.3 kWh battery pack is 461 kilometres on a single charge. With this battery and an electric motor producing 174 horsepower and 280 Nm, a sprint from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour can be completed in less than 8.5 seconds. With its own weight of 396.9 kg, the battery is capable of a real-world range of about 350 miles on a single charge.
New Upgrades for the Exclusive Trim The new base Excite trim is equipped with the new i-Smart features, a 360-degree camera, hill-descent control, climate control, and rear AC vents. In addition to many other features, the new i-Smart suite enables FOTA functionality, Park+’s native app for parking reservations, MapMyIndia’s online navigation with real-time traffic updates, the Discover app, and live weather. MG ZS EV works with the Tata Power grid for charging.
The Iconic Ivory interior trim option, which MG now offers for Exclusive trim, significantly brightens the cabin compared to the previously available darker colours. The same i-Smart functions stated above are included in the exclusive trim. Additionally, the luxurious grade includes features like a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging, rear driver assistance, and many more. Tata Nexon EV Max and XUV400 now have a stronger competitor in the MG ZS EV Excite trim. Although it is more expensive than both of its competitors, the MG ZS EV provides a bigger battery. better performance and range.
