We are all aware of the partnership between domestic two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto and British motorbike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles to produce high-quality, reasonably priced bikes for the nation. The Indian market will finally receive new motorcycles from this initiative after a two-year wait. The Bajaj-Triumph motorcycles were recently observed testing abroad, and based on spy photos, it looks like they are almost ready for production.
When we look closer at the spy photos, we can tell that the upcoming motorcycles will have a single-cylinder engine. Though the capacity is yet unknown, we may expect it to be between 300 and 400 cc. With this size, these will compete with the Royal Enfield Meteor and the future “Hunter.” The spy photo also shows that of the two motorcycles, one would have 17-inch wheels and the other will have 19/17-inch wheels in a scrambler design.
Furthermore, the smaller bikes will have retro appearance when it comes to the design and aesthetics of the next bikes. The scrambler-styled bikes, on the other hand, will have knuckle guards and unusual split-style exhaust canisters. If there are any further features, these motorcycles will probably include USD forks, a TFT instrument panel, and all-LED lighting. It’s also important to note that Bajaj and Triumph will sell these bikes as high-end models while keeping the cost low.
We can anticipate the bikes being introduced in India the next year in terms of pricing and introduction. Pricing for the bikes under the Bajaj-Triumph partnership might vary from Rs 2.50 to Rs 3.50 lakh. The COVID-19 breakaway prevented the introduction of these Triumph-designed and Bajaj Auto-produced motorcycles in the country in 2022, as planned.
