Citroen has started developing a brand-new three-row vehicle that will be based on the recently released C3. In Chandigarh, this brand-new car was observed undergoing testing. Citroen’s C3 is its first product designed specifically for India, and in addition to localising it heavily, the company also appears to be developing three-row variants, which are in strong demand. While the C3, a high-riding hatchback, targets both hatchback and compact SUV buyers, this new three-row car appears to be targeting MPV and SUV buyers.
- New Citroen three row model will be based on C3
- Sports bigger wheels, more ground clearance
- Expected to share powertrains with C3
Exterior and interior of the Citroen C3 three-row
The test mule appears to be rolling on larger wheels, possibly 16 inches or more, as seen in the spy photographs, as opposed to the conventional C3’s 15-inch wheels. The new three-row Citroen also appears to have extra clearance from the ground, and it is anticipated that it will have tough body cladding all around to give it an SUV appearance.

The vehicle’s body shell is identical to the normal C3 up until the B-pillar, but after that, there are no more visual similarities. The glass portion and the rear quarter panel appear to be brand-new. This car may be longer than four metres because the back overhang is likewise significantly greater than the C3’s.

The interior of the three-row Citroen will be very similar to that of the standard C3. In actuality, the C3’s dashboard design, steering wheel, and instrument panel are similar. However, because of its higher standing, the lineup may include more typical features. A third row of chairs, though, might be the largest improvement.
Three-row Citroen C3 powertrain
The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine in the three-row Citroen will probably be paired with either a 5-speed manual or, later on, an automatic gearbox. In order to pursue a competitive starting price, Citroen could possibly include the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine on the model.
It’s unclear how the business plans to market this brand-new crossover in India, although it may be called the Citroen C3 Plus, C3 Sport Tourer, or even the C3 Aircross. In the Indian market, we anticipate this new Citroen to compete directly with the Renault Triber and offer a more inexpensive alternative to models like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, and Kia Carens.
