Two years after launching its rapid delivery service, Swiggy Instamart, the firm said that it currently has nearly nine million lifetime users across more than 25 cities. The business revealed that Instamart orders varied from 11 535 to 1. (thanks to offers).
In a press release, Swiggy said that between June 2021 and June 2022, the number of orders on their Instamart increased by a factor of 16. Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai place the most orders among major cities.
The company also revealed that the top five cities for orders of distressed goods were Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, and Hyderabad. With close to two million orders, tampons, menstrual cups, and sanitary napkins are the most popular items.
Online condom delivery jumped by 570 times over the previous year, and orders for first-aid supplies increased with about 45,000 packs of band-aids ordered.
Additionally, even though most ice cream orders were placed after 10 PM, between April and June, they rose by 42%. More than 5.6 million packages of instant noodles were provided due to the high demand for them in metro areas.
Over the previous two years, the company has also fulfilled over 50 million egg orders, with Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai ordering an average of six million eggs each.
The site shipped close to 62,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables over the previous year, and 30 million requests for milk over the previous two years.
It’s interesting to note that over two lakh orders for cleaning supplies including drain cleaners, scrub pads, and bathroom cleansers were placed in the last year.
