In some areas, the Honda Forza line of maxi-scooters now comes in 125 cc and 350 cc variants. Honda India has been doing a great job of boosting sales. Currently, as shown in our retail sales report for the month of June 2022, it is the second-highest selling two-wheeler brand in India.
In June 2022, Honda sold 2,85,691 vehicles compared to 1,96,785 in June 2021, a 45.18 percent YoY increase. As of June 2022, the Japanese company held a 25.53 percent market share. As noted in the top 10 scooter post, Honda is absolutely destroying it when it comes to scooter sales, selling 1,84,305 units of the Activa series and 26,450 units of the Dio. However, it appears that Honda is getting ready to introduce a whole new scooter in India. On August 8th, 2022, it will be made public, as teasers have suggested.
Honda Forza Scooter India Launch
Given that the teaser assertively states that the “Formidable” is on the way, we say it is a scooter rather than a motorbike. The word “Formidable,” with its emphasis on the letter F, immediately brings to mind the Forza, a sporty maxi-styled scooter that Honda sells in a few markets. No, we’re not referring to the well-known Forza racing games.
Honda has also registered the Forza name in India. Honda currently offers the Grazia, Doi, and the enduringly popular Activa series.
These are all standard scooters that are propelled by either a 125-cc engine or a 110-cc engine. However, a brand-new type of scooter is becoming more and more common in India.
You are correct if you assumed electric scooters. But in this article, we are specifically referring to maxi-scooters.
At the more expensive end, we currently offer the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160. But with its R15-derived engine and VVA technology, Yamaha’s Aerox 155 takes the prize. The 14.79 horsepower and 13.9 Nm of power are produced by the Aerox 155. This scooter is currently unchallenged as the king of sporty and maxi-styled scooters. Yamaha intends to introduce the NM ax 155 to India as well after observing the popularity of the Aerox 155. Another Japanese manufacturer was inspired by the Aerox 155’s success.
Honda Forza Rivals
A maxi-styled scooter with a tonne of comfort and wind protection will be the Forza 150. But design is only one aspect of the puzzle. Honda must also equal the Aerox 155’s performance, which is the industry standard in this class. Honda might give the Forza 150 a 153cc engine like the one found in the PCX 150 scooter, which produces 13.4 horsepower and 14 Nm, or a 149cc engine like the one found in the ADV 150, which produces 14.5 bhp and 13.8 Nm. Honda’s sweet spot is 150cc, but we can also obtain the Forza 125 or Forza 350, which are offered in Europe and a few other regions.
Compared to Forza 350, Forza 125 is more realistic. If so, Honda will use a 124cc engine from the Activa 125 and Grazia to power the new maxi-style scooter. It will fight against the only other maxi-styled 125cc scooter in India, the Aprilia SXR 125, and produces 8.14 horsepower and 10.3 Nm.
About this planned launch, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has not yet made any announcements.
However, we are certain that it is either a Forza 150 or a Forza 125. When first introduced, the former would face off against the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SXR 160, while the latter would face off against the Aprilia SXR 125. If the Forza scooter is truly introduced on August 8 in India, it will be the first Honda scooter to be sold through their exclusive Big Wing network.
