Today, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra was unveiled at a launch celebration in China. A 50MP quad Leica-tuned camera configuration is only one of several “Ultra” features the smartphone brings with it that live up to its name. The C7 LTPO OLED panel on the front has a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, making it the smartphone with the brightest display. Under the hood is a potent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Let’s examine the new Xiaomi smartphone’s features in more detail.
It wouldn’t be wise to talk about anything else first since the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a camera-focused device. With a Leica Vario-Summicron lens on the back, the smartphone debuts as the company’s real image flagship. The main camera has a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor that measures 1 inch in size and supports variable aperture between f/1.9 and f/4.0. Unaware consumers can adjust the depth of field and light intake by using a variable aperture.
Additionally, a 50MP Sony IMX858 f/1.8 ultrawide sensor with a 122-degree FOV is present. A pair of 50 megapixel Sony IMX858 sensors are used in the telephoto configuration. The first sensor has an f/3.0 maximum aperture and a 75mm focal length, which is equivalent to a 2.5x zoom. The second sensor offers a 5x zoom and an f/3.0 maximum aperture in addition to a longer 120mm focal length.
Additional Information
As we already noted, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has additional “Ultra” features outside its cameras. Additionally, it offers one of the top displays available. The device makes use of a brand-new C7 LTPO OLED panel that Xiaomi and China Star jointly developed. The display is the brightest one to date with a 1,440p resolution and a maximum peak brightness of 2,600 nits. In contrast, the maximum brightness of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is only 2,300 nits.
The phone’s internal components include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 12 or 16GB of RAM, and 256, 512, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. A 5,000mAh battery powers the device and supports 90W cable charging and 50W wireless charging. According to Xiaomi, the battery has a 60-minute runtime at 1% battery. The USB 3.2 port is another noteworthy improvement. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s operating system is MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13.
