Google Pixel 7 Pro Leak Implies There Won’t Be Any Issues Apple

Only yesterday, we witnessed a complete specs leak for the Google Pixel 7. Today, the same source is back with a similarly thorough leak for the Google Pixel 7 Pro, but it’s also a letdown.

This list of specifications was tweeted by Yogesh Brar, a reliable leaker, and nearly nothing on it differs from what we saw on the Pixel 6 Pro.

The inclusion of a Tensor G2 chipset, Google’s next-generation technology, is the only significant modification. Google has announced that this will be present, so we know it will be, but if leaks are to be believed, it may still lag behind the competition.

The remaining specifications include a triple-lens camera with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 48MP telephoto sensor, a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, a 5,000mAh battery, 30W charging, wireless charging, Android 13, and these features. All of that is available on the Pixel 6 Pro.

So, will Google actually introduce a new phone with just a chipset upgrade? I guess not quite. Even if this leak is true, which is doubtful, the design is still being improved, so even though the numbers are comparable, it’s likely that components like the camera could perform better. However, it does appear that the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro may be extremely similar.

Analysis: the iPhone 14 line is not in danger.
With the Pixel 6, Google upended the status quo by releasing a phone with a unique new design and a custom chipset. The iPhone 14 faces less competition this year because Google doesn’t seem to be using the same method this year, which may have been enough for Apple to pay attention.

Instead, the normal iPhone 14 is, if anything, even less of an upgrade from the iPhone 13 than the Pixel 7 Pro appears to be from the Pixel 6 Pro, giving the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max less competition.

At least Apple offers you the choice of spending more money on the more expensive Pro model or purchasing the nearly useless but still reasonably priced iPhone 14. However, Google may not provide many reasons for users to upgrade from the Pixel 6 phones with the Pixel 7 series.

Nevertheless, those are only a year old, and if more people kept their phones longer, the planet might not be in such poor position. And if you’re looking for a new phone, our best phones guide has a tonne of other excellent choices.
