It’s Possible That WhatsApp New Functionality May Render Google Meet And Zoom Useless

With video conferencing programmes like Google Meet and Zoom, sharing links for joining calls is popular. Currently, WhatsApp is adding a feature similar to that called “Call Links” to its app.

On Monday, Mark Zuckerberg posted a notice about the function on Facebook. Additionally, he disclosed that WhatsApp would begin testing its 32-person encrypted video calling feature. Both audio and video calls will be supported via the call links functionality.

It operates like a Zoom or Google Meet call. You have to generate a call link, which you may share with your friends and family to invite them to the call.

On WhatsApp, select the “Calls” tab to make a call link. where the “Create call link” option is located.

After you click that link, a call link will be generated that you can share with others. The link will add the user to the call after they click it.

WhatsApp specifically targets Google Meet and Zoom.
Only eight people can be on a WhatsApp call at once. It might be assumed that WhatsApp is attempting to enter the video conferencing market by introducing the call links feature and increasing the number of participants in a conference.

If all goes according to plan, WhatsApp might significantly reduce Google Meet and Zoom’s market share. WhatsApp has an unparalleled reach in nations like India. It’s safe to say that WhatsApp’s video conferencing capability will take off if it can deliver a user experience that rivals Google Meet.

Given that a significant portion of video conferencing is still done on laptops and PCs, WhatsApp should also make sure that this feature will function without any issues with the WhatsApp for PC version.
