The New iPhone 14 Update Addresses A Serious Problem About Which Many People Have Complained

When the iPhone 14 series was first released, many users immediately started to complain about a significant problem: when using third-party apps to open the camera, the picture would frequently shake, return blurry images, and occasionally even make grinding noises, leading many to believe that the phone’s OIS was the problem.

However, these challenges weren’t limited to third-party photography-focused apps; as a result, using Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and other similar services became challenging.

But it appears that Apple is working on a solution. According to Apple’s security updates log(opens in new tab), a new version of iOS 16 known as iOS 16.0.2 has been seen rolling out to phones.

The camera bug on iPhone 14 models has been fixed in this update, which started rolling out on September 22. It also addresses a few other flaws, such as a problem with text copying and pasting between apps.

So, if you’ve been having trouble with third-party camera apps, all it takes is updating to a newer version of iOS to fix the issue. To do this, open the Settings app and choose Software Update from the General list. If you qualify for the update, it will show up here.

That’s true in theory, but before we truly accept it, we’ll need confirmation from early iPhone 14 adopters that the problem has been resolved.

This upgrade is timely because the iPhone 14 Plus hasn’t even been announced, so consumers who purchase that expensive, large-screen phone won’t even experience this camera shake issue.
We completely understand why Apple aficionados were working themselves into a tizzy over this matter; if we couldn’t use the ‘Gram, we’d be irritated too. But hopefully, with the upcoming update, these phones will merit a higher ranking on our list of the best smartphones.
