A few years ago, an unusual love tale that is currently melting the hearts of social media users took place on the streets of Bengaluru. It began at a signal at the notorious Ejipura flyover in the Koramangala neighbourhood of the Karnataka capital, where there was a traffic bottleneck. Social media is rife with jokes about the city’s notorious traffic and infrastructure problems, but this tale of falling in love at the most unlikely moment takes the cake.
The report was released on Twitter by a person going by the name of Aj. He commented, “Top quality things on Reddit today @peakbengaluru.”
The Reddit post, written by a user called MaskedManiac92 read, “I’ve mentioned this in another thread, but I met my wife near Sony World Signal. I haven’t put the whole story there, but the gist is that one day I was dropping her home (only knew her as a friend back then) and we got stuck somewhere nearby because of the Ejipura flyover work.”
“We got frustrated and were hungry so we diverted and went and had dinner nearby. Anyway, I’ve dated her for 3 years since then and been married for 2 years, but the 2.5 km flyover is still under construction,” it added.
I’ve discussed this in another thread, but I met my wife close to Sony World Signal, according to a Reddit post by a person going by the name MaskedManiac92. Although I didn’t include the entire narrative there, the basic point is that we got trapped someplace nearby because of the Ejipura flyover construction one day when I was dropping her off at home (I only knew her as a friend at the time).”
“We took a detour and went to a restaurant nearby because we were hungry and frustrated. Anyway, since then, I’ve dated her for three years and we’ve been married for two, but the 2.5 km flyover is still being built,” it said.
A person by the name of Asghar commented on Twitter that “this sounds like a fascinating narrative and Bollywood should consider about making it on the big screen” when the story went viral.
Many people also have trouble understanding how long it took to finish infrastructure projects. Yep, I can attest to that happening, said another user on the internet. When the flyover construction began, my daughter enrolled in Christ Junior College; now that she has graduated and begun graduate school, the flyover is still unfinished.
Some people were merely curious about the couple’s food. A tweet asked, “Just want to know what they had for dinner?”
Another response said, “When life throws you lemons, make lemonade and he indeed squeezed them meticulously, one must say!!”
