The Google Pixel 7 Might Be Released Even Sooner Than The Pixel Watch

When will these smartphones actually ship? We are aware that Google will unveil the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, as well as the Pixel Watch, on October 6. Pre-orders will also likely begin on that day, at least for the Pixel 7 Pro.

Google hasn’t officially announced a delivery date for the Pixel Watch, but according to Caschy’s Blog(opens in new tab), it will arrive on November 4 while the Pixel 7 will arrive on October 18. The Pixel 7 Pro isn’t mentioned, although they might have meant that both devices will be available on October 18.

Naturally, we should be sceptical about this assertion, especially given the unreliable nature of the source. It’s important to note, however, that same source also claims October 6 as the pre-order date for all three smartphones, and that assertion appears to have been made not long after Google announced that pre-orders for the Pixel 7 Pro will begin on that date.

However, given that the announcement was made on October 6, that date would have been a logical assumption as well, so we wouldn’t put too much stock in it. However, if this is true, you would only need to wait 12 days from the time the Pixel 7 is announced until you can actually hold it in your hands. In contrast, the Pixel Watch will require a wait of almost a month.

Speaking of the Pixel Watch, 9to5Google(opens in new tab) offers further details, including the price of $349.99 (about £310 or AU$525) for the Bluetooth device. This estimate, which follows an earlier assertion that the cellular variant would cost $399 (about £350/AU$595), is reportedly provided by a retail source.

9to5 Google has also provided some information on the potential colour options for the Pixel Watch, stating that the Bluetooth variant will be offered in three different colour schemes: black case with obsidian band, silver case with chalk band, and gold case with hazel band. According to reports, the cellular version is available in the colours black/obsidian, silver/charcoal, and gold/hazel.

Off-white seems to be chalk here, dark grey is charcoal, and black is obsidian. As you can see in the tweet below, leaker Roland Quandt(opens in new tab) listed the same colours separately but defined them significantly differently.

Analysis: The pricing is more than what we had previously heard.
Another leak suggested that while the price above was plausible, a far cheaper price was also possible. This isn’t the only new information we’ve heard about potential Pixel Watch prices and colours.

It’s unfortunate to see that Google may have chosen the more expensive choice, but this may indicate that the Pixel Watch’s specifications and functionalities are more comparable to those of competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and the Apple Watch 8.

While the initial colour leak was consistent with the foregoing, it provided less information and omitted mention of hazel as a colour choice. Of course, none of these specifics have been confirmed as of yet, but since Google’s top smartwatch rival is right around the corner, we’ll soon know what the Pixel Watch delivers.
