The DJI Action 3 is Slated To Ditch The Action 2’s Design

The Avata and Mini 3 Pro drones from DJI may have been released this year, but the firm is not finished. DJI intends to introduce a replacement for the Action 2, which made its debut in October, according to @DealsDrone. In summary, the Action 2—a GoPro Hero clone—arrived with a revamp from the Osmo Action. The Action 2, which costs $399 USD and was just unveiled, is significantly more compact than the Osmo Action.

It’s important to note that the Osmo Action in the image above is the original, not the Action 3. But @DealsDrone asserts that the Osmo Action and the Action 3 will resemble one another almost exactly. Unfortunately, the leaker has not made any remarks regarding DJI’s decision to stop using the Action 2’s form factor. If so, DJI’s numerous Action 2 accessories might become obsolete after just one generation. The change in form factor might be intended to address the Action 2’s problem with overheating.

Similar overheating issues affect the Hero 10 Black, however GoPro claims to have taken measures to address them. The Action 3 is rumoured to be coming out in the middle of September, reportedly on its own and not as a part of a larger release. In other words, DJI might announce the Action 3 in two to three weeks and might beat GoPro to it with the Hero 11 Black. Interestingly, the Hero 11 Black has not yet surfaced. Although the Action 3’s price has not yet been revealed, we anticipate that it will be comparable to the Action 2’s.
