As promised back in March 2022, Hop Electric Mobility will officially introduce the Hop Oxo, its first electric motorcycle, on September 5. Given that e-scooters have gained some popularity in India and that e-bikes are only now coming to the fore, this is undoubtedly positive.
With a top speed of 100kmph, the Hop Oxo is marketed as a motorcycle with a performance focus. This ought to go well with its streetfighter avatar. The Oxo initially reminds me of the Yamaha FZ-Fi version 2, especially when viewed from the front.
The motorcycle’s technical specifications are still a secret, but it is visible wearing a big battery pack driving a hub motor, with a range of between 100 and 150 kilometres. It has a telescopic fork, twin rear shocks, and a single disc brake on either end for braking.
After successfully completing 75,000km of road testing across 20 locations, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Patna, and Kolkata, Hop revealed shortly after the motorcycle was unveiled that it had received an ARAI certification.
For Rs 999, you can reserve an e-bike on the business’s website. In reality, before the debut, Hop announced 5,000 bookings. The Oxo will compete against established models like the Revolt RV 400 and is anticipated to cost roughly Rs. 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
