The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X And Ryzen 9 5950X Perform Horribly On Geekbench When Compared To The Intel Core i9-13900K

With 24 total cores, the Intel Core i9-13900K is proving to be a multi-core beast (8 P-cores and 16 E-cores). Now that the chip has returned to Geekbench, both the single-core and multi-core runs are valid. The results are consistent with our earlier reports, showing that the Core i9-13900K completely destroyed the leading current-generation AMD processors.

We have a very solid idea of what to expect from Intel’s next 13th generation “Raptor Lake” CPUs thanks to a wealth of leaked benchmark results and specification information. This time, thanks to BenchLeaks, we have a legitimate Geekbench 5 entry for the Core i9-13900K.

The 13th generation CPU was initially operating on a system with 32 GB of 3200 MHz DDR5 RAM, an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 APEX motherboard, a base clock of 3 GHz, and a maximum boost frequency of around 5.5 GHz. The system is essentially identical to the one that visited Geekbench at the beginning of the month and received a single-core score of 2,147 and a multi-core score of 23,982, with the exception of the RAM being 100 MHz slower.

It’s interesting to note that the Core i9-13900K scored significantly higher single-core and multi-core scores of 2,169 and 24,189, respectively, despite the current run being conducted on an identical PC with slower RAM. These benchmark scores appear to be very impressive when compared to the most recent AMD and Intel CPUs. For instance, the Core i9-13900K performs 25.5% quicker in single-threaded and an insane 125% faster in multi-threaded benchmark runs when compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X. The Core i9-13900K, on the other hand, performs close to 30% faster in single-core performance and 115% faster in multi-threaded performance based on our Ryzen 7 5800X Geekbench 5 findings.

The most recent Core i9-13900K scores blow away AMD’s top-tier Ryzen 9 5950X, according to our median Geek bench 5 results, with a 33% advantage in single-threaded performance and a 55% increase in multi-threaded performance.

     AMD

The Core i9-13900K performs 11% better than our median Core i9-12900K single-score on Geek bench 5. The Raptor Lake processor performs around 36% quicker across all cores. Higher boost clocks can be blamed for the single-core performance, while a considerable rise in core counts is mostly responsible for the multi-core improvements (24 vs 16 in Favour of the Raptor Lake chip).

Although the Core i9-13900K appears to have improved upon the current-generation AMD Zen 3 and Intel Alder Lake chips, it is vital to keep in mind that these are only preliminary figures as Intel has not yet made the processors public.

We are eager to compare the CPU to the Ryzen 9 7900X and Ryzen 9 7950X, which are expected to offer significant frequency enhancements over their predecessors with boost clocks of 5.6 and 5.7 GHz, respectively.
