Return Of The Tata Altroz Gold Color; 4 Discontinued Variants

The Tata Altroz has long been the industry benchmark for safety and one of the most attractive vehicles in its class.

When Tata introduced Altroz, it immediately became a success. It was the first vehicle in its class to receive a 5-star crash safety certification. Additionally, it had doors that opened at a 90-degree angle and had an attractive appearance. While the rivals received more flashy values, these increased the car’s actual value. Despite the fact that I20 and Baleno are far safer and more attractive than Altroz, many still like them (subjective). Our sales data show that the novelty of Altroz is wearing off as sales decline dramatically year over year. Tata has therefore been changing the variant portfolio to get rid of a few variants that aren’t selling well.

    Tata Altroz Variants Discontinued

Nexon sales have been heavily promoted by Tata Motors. However, Altroz’s sales have been declining while those of its rivals have been booming. What varieties are eliminated, then? Actually, not much. This process of switching things up applies to both diesel and gasoline engine variations. The XZ (O) trim represents the primary deletion. Along with the majority of the versions that this XZ (O) trim gave rise to, including the XZ (O) Petrol MT, XZA (O) Petrol AT, and XZ (O) Diesel MT, this trim has been discontinued. Only the XZ (O) iTurbo MT is now available with the XZ (O) trim.

Apart from that, XE grade for diesel engines has been dropped. This is logical. Because diesel purchasers typically have larger wallets and wish to have at least some frills, XE trim is very basic. Taxi drivers would favour a base model with a diesel engine, but they would also consider a sedan under 4 metres, particularly with a CNG option.

    Tata Altroz

All told, those were Tata Altroz variations that were eliminated to make room for the creation of variations that were in demand. Tata Motors will have given this decision careful consideration using analytics and statistics.

    Colour Addition

In addition to switching up the variants, Tata has also brought back the previously discontinued High-Street Gold color. This is the exact Gold shade that Tata Motors used to decorate their posters of the Altroz. The goal of High-Street Gold was to highlight Altroz as the gold standard it was meant to be. Last month, Tata Motors increased the cost of every model it sells. Altroz also benefited from the price increase in July 2022.

Altroz offers a 1.5L turbo diesel option in addition to 1.2L and 1.2L turbo petrol engines. The 1.2L gasoline without a turbo produces 85 hp and 113 Nm of torque, the 1.2L gasoline with a turbo produces 108 hp and 140 Nm of torque, and the 1.2L diesel with a turbo produces 90 hp and 200 Nm of torque. There are two different transmission options: a 6-speed DCT and a 5-speed manual. To achieve a 0–100 km/h pace under 10 seconds, Tata could have included the DCT with the turbo petrol engine choice. The chance to develop a sporty Altroz-like N Line version of the i20 was lost.
