The iPhone 14 Pro always-on screen keeps spilling its secrets. Our colleagues at 9to5Mac found new backgrounds for the function when poking around in iOS 16. The latter has the option to enter standby mode automatically, which darkens the picture and highlights the various configurable widgets.
We have almost always known that the iPhone 14 Pro will have an always-on screen for a number of months. This unique function is made possible by the first-ever use of an LTPO panel, which can switch between a refresh rate of 1 Hz and 120 Hz.
Recall that the capability will allow you to show various pieces of information on the lock screen, such as the degree of autonomy, the current weather, or the status of deliveries.
DETAILS ON THE NEW IOS 16 WALLPAPER THAT ADAPTS TO THE IPHONE 14 PRO’S ALWAYS-ON SCREEN
Today, we are understanding a little bit more about how the screen functions thanks to the research of our 9to5mac colleagues.
Concretely, the latter will function roughly in line with Android devices, which provide the option for the screen to become black while locked and display the user-configured widgets. A little Apple-made variation will be added to this.
In fact, iOS 16 includes a number of new wallpapers that are slightly different from those on iPhone. Indeed, the latter are not static; rather, they change depending on the condition of the smartphone. In order to better showcase the information on the image, it darkens automatically when the always-on screen engages.
As a result, the iPhone 14 Pro will behave similarly to the Apple Watch, which already has this feature. The wallpaper automatically switches to this Standby mode when the user locks his screen, keeping the image visible on the smartphone.
Naturally, the wallpaper automatically returns to its normal brightness as soon as the latter is unlocked without any user action. How many of these live wallpapers Apple will provide is yet unknown, as is whether this is a feature that applies to all photographs
