The Redmi G 2022, another 16-inch gaming laptop, has been teased by Xiaomi. This time around, it appears that Xiaomi has updated the Redmi G’s design and added a 2.5K display with a 165 Hz refresh rate.
Xiaomi updated the Redmi G laptop in February, and it has now stated that it will soon sell an updated version of the device.
Strangely, the Redmi G 2022, which suggests significant advancements from the Redmi G 2021, will be sold as the new Redmi G.
However, Intel Alder Lake processors will continue to power the upcoming Redmi G, while NVIDIA RTX 30 series GPUs do not yet have any replacements.
Xiaomi has said that the Redmi G 2022 will have an improved display instead. It appears that the new model will also feature a modified chassis. For instance, the Redmi G 2022 looks to have an SD card reader, which was absent from its predecessor. Additionally, there is less space next to the keyboard deck, which suggests that the Redmi G has also shrunk a little. This is supported by smaller display bezels, even though the Redmi G 2022 has a 16-inch screen.
The Redmi G 2022 will have a 16:10 display, up from a 16:9 one in the Redmi G 2021, according to teasers from Xiaomi. The display will also produce a 165 Hz refresh rate while operating at 2.5K, or likely 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Interestingly, Xiaomi has made a suggestion that the display will also have a peak brightness of 500 nits and a Delta E of 1.5 deviations. The Redmi G 2022, which will be unveiled tomorrow, will start shipping with a new Intel Core i5 processor on July 27.
