Tuxedo Introduces a Liquid-Cooled Linux Laptop

Tuxedo Stellaris 15 Gen4 starts at €2599 (with a Core i7-12700H and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060M), although the Aquarist liquid cooling block has been purchased separately for €199.

Tuxedo may not be a familiar brand for many of us, but it is a well-known German supplier of high-performance Linux-based laptops.
Earlier this year, the business released the Stellaris 15 Gen4 notebook, which is aimed at high-performance customers and comes with an optional external liquid-cooling system.
Tuxedo initially only provided the machine with Windows, but the business has now begun to offer it with Linux, according to Photonix.

Clavo’s Tuxedo Stellaris 15 Gen4 is a powerful desktop replacement gaming laptop.
It is equipped with an Intel Core i9-12900H processor, two DDR5 memory modules, two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSDs, and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 Its graphics chip. To maximize the gaming experience, the computer has a 15.6-inch display with a 2560×1440 resolution and a refresh rate of 240Hz.

Given the heat created by Intel’s Core i9-12900H and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 It GPUs, as well as performance limitations caused by overheating, it’s no wonder that Tuxedo (or rather Clavo) decided to include an optional Tuxedo Aquarist liquid cooling system.
The Stellaris 15 Gen4 can operate completely autonomously on the road, thanks to its 93Wh battery and lack of extra liquid cooling.
However, while in desktop mode, you can connect the liquid cooling to increase cooling and hence enhance performance

Due to software difficulties, Tuxedo initially only supplied the Stellaris 15 Gen4 with Windows.
Because Cleva created the machine with Windows in mind, the basic software only supported Microsoft’s operating systems.
As a result, the business had to create its own Tuxedo Control Center for Linux to allow users to change the addressable RGB LEDs and modify the fan speed for the liquid cooling radiator.
