    Oppo Reno7/F21 Pro review

There are 7 models in the Oppo Reno7 family of devices in our database, and it takes some concerted effort to tell them apart. The Reno7 proper is the one we have for you today, and it has the blandest of names

There are no other names, and the lack of 5G in the term implies that there is no next-generation connectivity, which is true. Despite its lite name, the Reno7 Lite supports 5G, but aside from that, it is largely genetically identical to this 4G-only device. While we’re talking about family ties, the F21 Pro, which is virtually the same device as the Reno7, is offered in India. As a result, our conclusions here should also apply to that device. Just be careful not to confuse it with the F21 Pro 5G, which is the Reno7 Lite’s other pseudonym. If we were able to resolve the issue, fantastic; if not, we can easily place the responsibility on Oppo.

Despite not having particularly intriguing features, the Reno7 is nonetheless surprisingly well-equipped. You receive an OLED screen running at 90Hz, 8GB of RAM, and at least 128GB of storage, and even if the Snapdragon 680 doesn’t support 4K recording, it should still be strong enough.

A specialized “microscope” camera with a ring light may make up for the absence of an ultrawide unit, which is still arguably more significant in terms of the camera experience. The 64MP primary camera is standard fare, while the 32MP selfie camera is also well-liked.

Since the majority of the non-flagship Oppos/Realms we’ve had this year were still using Android 11, even if the Colors overlay was at version 12, we like that the Reno7 runs Android 12. The 6.43-inch display and 6nm chipset sound like a good match for the 4,500mAh battery, and the 33W charging should result in rather quick top-ups, though setting speed records is out of the question.
