Electric scooter Honda U-Go is patented in India.

Every other day, a fresh article about a new name being trademarked comes in front of us, giving the impression that an increasing number of two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers are visiting the Indian Patent Office. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda has applied for a patent for the name of their electric scooter, the U-Go. This is the most recent of these reports to appear on the internet. Although Honda has not officially confirmed whether it would debut this vehicle in India or not, it appears like the time has come for the company to join the country’s electric scooter trend.

Currently, Honda U-Go, an electric scooter with acceptable features and performance, is offered on the Chinese market. A BLDC motor that comes in two sizes—1200 watts and 800 watts—powers the scooter in China. Additionally, a removable 30Ah lithium-ion battery with a 75-kilometer range powers it. A 130km extra range is also offered by Honda’s dual battery pack. A good top speed of 53 kmph is reached by the U-Git.

The Honda U-Go, a compact electric scooter with a design like that of the Aether 450X, is targeted at urban users seeking quick intra-city travel and a short daily commute. The front of the e-scooter measures 1790 mm long by 690 mm wide and weighs about 83 kg. As the name suggests, the design encircles the body, with simple designs on the body panels. The headlight cluster, which features an inverted “U”-shaped DRL, is mounted on the apron, and a set of LED turn indicators are mounted on either side of the handlebar. Wraparound taillights with modern LED elements are given to the back in a basic design.

The Honda U-Go in China also has a USB charging connector, an inverted LCD multi-information display, floating LED tail lights, triple beam LED headlights, and other items on its feature list. The scooter also features a 10-inch rear wheel with a drum brake arrangement and a 12-inch front wheel with telescopic suspension and disc brakes.

A Honda Benley e-electric scooter with a test registration number and a green license plate number was recently sighted in the wild, according to other scooter-related news. A commercial electric scooter aimed at delivery companies is called the Benley e. The scooter has a swappable battery system that almost eliminates downtime and is built to safely transport as much luggage as feasible.

The Automotive Research Association of India hosted testing of the Benley e-scooter last year (ARAI). Up to 60 kg can be loaded onto the scooter. The front apron can also be used to connect a basket. The scooter has a charging port, a digital instrument cluster, and an LED light. The electric scooter is available in several countries with a selection of battery packs. The more potent models use a 4.2 kW electric motor whereas the base model has a 2.8 kW electric motor. Each model comes with two removable 48V batteries.
