HTC Launches a Metaverse Friendly Smartphone: HTC Desire 22 Pro

It’s been a long time since HTC lost its foothold in the Android smartphone market. The company hasn’t released a competitive flagship smartphone in years. HTC even tried manufacturing hardware devices for other brands like Google, which also has halted.

The smartphone division of HTC hasn’t given up just yet, either.
The HTC Desire 22 Pro, which replaces the HTC Desire 21 Pro from the previous year, was introduced by the firm today.
With its most recent version, the corporation is attempting to compete in the metaverse race.

HTC has done the same as practically everyone else who is attempting to profit from the so-called metaverse.
The device is reportedly offered for £399 in the UK and will begin shipping on August 1st, according to a report from the Verge.

How is the HTC Desire 22 Pro different?

First off, the HTC Desire 21 Pro’s exclusive emphasis on Metaverse functions sets it apart from other Android smartphones.
To begin with, the gadget is made to work perfectly with HTC’s Vivi flow VR headset.

You can reach HTC’s version of the metaverse, the “Viv verse,” using a VR headset.
It’s still unclear what distinguishes the Desire 22 Pro from other Android smartphones, despite the headset’s compatibility with other Android phones.

It appears that the company’s Viv verse interoperability is the primary selling point in this case.

What features does it come with?

HTC’s Desire 22 Pro is a mid-range phone coming in with a large 6.6-inch, 120 HZ LCD display. The device comes with 8GB of Ram and 128GB of storage with a Snapdragon 695 chipset under the hood.

Powering the device will be a 4,520 Mah battery supporting 18 watts of quick charge. It will also have 15W of wireless charging as well as support for reverse wireless charging.

On the rear of the phone are three cameras with various viewpoints.
Along with a 13MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP depth module, there is a 64MP rear lens with an f/1.8 aperture.
It boasts a massive 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera in the front that is housed inside a punch-hole cut-out.

For easier access on the device, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner is there.
Software-wise, it will have Android 12 installed and be IP67 water and dust resistant.
The HTC Desire 22 Pro is available in two colors—gold and black—and costs €459/£399 in Europe.

Last but not least, the strategy is strikingly similar to Solana’s just-announced crypto-secure smartphone.
The Solana Saga is designed for safe crypto and NFT transactions, whilst the Desire 22 Pro concentrates on the metaverse component.

What do you think about the freshly released targeted smartphones?
    Will you purchase them?
